Uralkali Honors Potash Industry War Veterans

On 25 March 2015, war veterans and homefront workers who worked in potash industry were awarded with commemorative medals marking the 70th anniversary of the 1941-45 Great Patriotic War during an official ceremony.

The CEO of Uralkali, Dmitri Osipov and the Deputy Head of Solikamsk, Igor Davletshin, took part in the event. The Company presented veterans with souvenirs. Uralkali will organise the award of medals to the homes of those veterans whose health did not allow them to visit the ceremony. Almost 300 combat veterans and homefront workers who worked in potassium production were awarded with medals on the eve of anniversary of the Victory.

Vadim Kivokurtsev, war and potash industry veteran, said:

Victory Day is a special holiday for us as veterans. We gained victory at a heavy cost. I joined the combat as a volunteer and I am proud of the honor of protecting my Motherland. Nowadays all the potash industry veterans feel constant support and care from the Company. I thank you on behalf of all of us.

The care of veterans is one of the traditionally important social policies of Uralkali. The company’s Labor Veteran Council in Berezniki and Solikamsk unites more than 9,400 potash industry veterans. In 2015, Uralkali will allocate more than RUB 60 million for different aid programmes for its labor veterans, covering the purchase of medicines, leisure and festive events, work of clubs, and payment of quarterly benefits to each potassium production veteran. Every year, the veterans have an opportunity to use the services of the Company’s health and recreation resort free of charge.
