Uralkali has been awarded a letter of gratitude for its contribution to the social and economic development of the Perm region

Leonid Morozov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Perm region, has presented a letter of thanks to Dmitry Osipov, Uralkali ÑEO. The letter recognises the significant contribution that Uralkali has made to a range of important social projects in Solikamsk and Berezniki.
In Solikamsk, Uralkali has supported the renovation of the historic Ust-Borovsk salt-works and, in September 2014, the first floor reopened after the building works were completed.
Since 2013, a large-scale project to develop children’s basketball has been implemented in Solikamsk and Berezniki. The programme has resulted in the building of 28 new basketball centers, the renovation of sports halls and the purchasing of 2,000 sets of sports uniform and equipment.
Uralkali also supports a number of other sporting initiatives in Berezniki and Solikamsk. The Company allocates funds to enable athletes from Solikamsk to enter into regional and international competitions.
In 2014, Uralkali provided funding for a number of other local projects, including; the Municipal Recreation and Entertainment Park in Berezniki, the repairing of roads in the area of Solikamsk and Berezniki and preparing schools for the new academic year.
Between 2013 and 2015, the Company plans to direct 2.54 billion roubles to a programme that resettles Berezniki residents from dilapidated and emergency housing. The funds will be spent on building more than 250,000 square metres of new housing.
With the support of Uralkali, a church of St. Luke Voyno-Yasenetsky was built in Berezniki in 2014.
The Company partnered with the Perm Engineering and Industrial Forum, which was facilitated by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Perm region.
In 2014, Uralkali invested US$ 28 million in social projects in the territories of its operations.
