Uralkali purchases new thermos flasks for miners

Uralkali has purchased its first set of thermos flasks specifically designed for use in underground conditions. The safe and ergonomic thermos flasks manufactured in Germany have a solid case made from stainless steel. All employees who work in the Company’s underground facilities will be provided with a flask. The first order contains 1,500 units, which will be distributed to rock removing machine operators. The Company plans to spend a total of RUB 2.5 million on the thermos flasks.

In addition, the Company plans to invest RUB 35 million in buying 120 portable lunch tables that will allow the miners to eat in the underground mine area. The tables will be equipped with runners, so that they can be moved easily.

Eduard Smirnov, Head of Mining at Uralkali, commented:

As a socially responsible employer, creating a safe and comfortable working environment is one of Uralkali’s main priorities. Providing appropriate places to eat for employees in the mine itself is an important step towards improving working conditions and labour safety in the Company’s underground facilities.

Uralkali (www.uralkali.com) is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters. The Company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Region, Russia). Uralkali employs ca.11,000 people (in the main production unit). Uralkali’s shares and GDRs are traded on the Moscow Exchange and London Stock Exchange, respectively.
