Seventeen secondary school graduates from Berezniki and Solikamsk will begin their studies as part of Uralkali’s targeted enrolment programme at the St. Petersburg Mining University and the Perm National Research Polytechnic University in September. With the Company’s support, they will be trained in Chemical technology of inorganic substances, Mine surveying, Electrification and automation of mining, Mining machines and equipment, Electric power supply and Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of solid minerals.

Ruslan Ilyasov, HR Director of PJSC Uralkali, said:

Today, Uralkali is one of the largest and fastest growing companies of the Perm territory. The Company faces massive challenges to expand production, and highly skilled professionals are the most important asset and the basis for further development. School graduates who choose our Company, after graduation, will not just join a team of professionals, but also can seize the opportunity for career and professional growth.

Uralkali has been implementing its targeted enrolment programme since 2009. Future students supported by the Company are determined by results of an open competition. To qualify, they must take part in school Olympiads in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and get good results at the Unified State Examination. The Company provides support to all participants of targeted enrolment for the entire period of study. Thus, targeted students have the opportunity to do practical training at the Company’s divisions in paid jobs; they are provided with materials to carry out projects and work on graduation theses. Participants in the programme, in addition to academic scholarships, receive additional scholarships from Uralkali, the size of which, depending on academic performance, varies from RUB 3,000 to RUB 12,000 per month. The targeted students who successfully complete education are guaranteed a job with the Company according to their occupations. When getting a job at Uralkali after graduation, young professionals are paid installation grants, the amount of which depends on their GPAs.

Uralkali (www.uralkali.com) is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters.
