Uralkali Presents the Solikamsk Rescue Services with a Special Emergency Response and Rescue Vehicle

20.08.2020

Today, the Solikamsk municipal rescue service was officially handed the keys to a new special emergency response and rescue vehicle, donated by Uralkali.

The vehicle is based on a GAZ-27057 chassis, has four-wheel drive, and will be used to transport rescue crews and emergency response equipment for quick deployment to areas hit by or at risk of natural or technogenic emergencies.

The truck has two internal compartments, one for the crew and the other for equipment. Equipment includes a radio station, a 10 metre ladder, three self-contained breathing apparatuses, elastic jacks, a portable tripod with a winch and a rescue harness, fire-fighting equipment, personal protective equipment, a wetsuit, a gas analyser, a stretcher, an autonomous pump, and hydraulic rescue tools, among other items.

Aleksey Fedotov, Head of the Solikamsk municipal district, commented:

Uralkali is a reliable partner for the region, and supports the Solikamsk municipal district on most of our social projects. The special emergency vehicle was presented to the municipal rescue service today and I am sure that it will make the work of these specialists even more effective, and will help us make this town a safer and better place to live in.

Andrey Volozhaninov, Head of the Civil Defence Department for the Solikamsk municipal district, noted:

The current rescue vehicle used by our municipal rescue team is fourteen years old, and is effectively coming to the end of its life. Thanks to Uralkali, this new vehicle will enable us to work more efficiently and effectively. Last year alone our crews completed almost 1000 response trips.

Maksim Tomilin, Uralkali-Remont General Director, added:

Safety has always been the highest priority at Uralkali. The emphasis on safety applies not only to employees at our production sites, but also to their families. We all walk along the same streets, use the same shops, attend the same schools, and take the same buses. That is why our projects supporting the town aim to create a convenient, comfortable and, most importantly, safe environment for every resident of Solikamsk.
