Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of Uralchem’s

The Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, also attended the ceremony.

While visiting the Technology stand he listened to a presentation by Dmitry Mazepin who spoke about digital agriculture and new projects that Uralkali and Uralchem are implementing with their strategic partner, Digital Agro, to optimise agricultural technologies and improve agribusiness management approaches.

Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of Uralchem’s Board of Directors and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralkali, and a member of the bureau of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, commented:

The development of the agricultural sector is strongly dependent upon the availability of accurate data concerning the condition of agricultural lands. We have adapted our approach to obtain this information using both aerial imagery (provided by satellites and drones) and agrochemical analysis of soils.

We understand that the Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography are already doing a lot of work in this area, and we are ready to share our technologies with others in the industry. We hope to conduct a joint project with our colleagues from Tatarstan to further improve data accuracy in our operations.

Uralkali (www.uralkali.com) is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters. The Company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore treatment plants in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Region, Russia). Uralkali employs more than 12,000 people in the main production unit.
