Uralkali and United Wagon Company Sign Agreement for Supply of 100 Innovative Mineral Railcars

Uralkali (the Company), one of the world's largest potash producers, and Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company” (United Wagon Company), signed an agreement for the supply of 100 innovative mineral railcars at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In accordance with the agreement, in 2021, United Wagon Company is to supply Uralkali with 100 model 19-9835-01 hopper cars with increased carrying capacity and increased turnaround between repairs produced by the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant. The acquisition is carried out as part of the implementation of the Uralkali’s long-term strategy for car fleet development and in order to ensure stable supply of the Company's products to consumers.

Vitaly Lauk, Uralkali CEO, commented:

Uralkali has been operating innovative mineral railcars manufactured by the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant since 2015. Currently, the Company's fleet includes over 1,500 cars of this type, which have proven themselves in terms of reliability. Their use is economically feasible, considering the prospects for increasing the throughput of both the Russian Railways network and the access roads of our mine groups and our own port terminal.
