Uralkali Releases Almost 50,000 Juvenile Sterlets into Kama River

Uralkali ecologists today released almost 50,000 juvenile sterlets into the Kama River (Perm Region, Russia). The sterlet is a species of the sturgeon family listed in the Red Book of the Perm Region. Since 2015, as part of a biological resource restoration programme, Uralkali has released over 503,000 young sterlets and over 13,000 pike fries into the Kama River.

The fish release ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Perm Region, the Middle Volga Territorial Administration of the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency, the Kama-Ural Branch of FSBI Glavrybvod and the Aquaculture Directorate of the Federal Fisheries Agency.
