Uralkali celebrates Miner's Day

On 28 August 2015, Uralkali (the “Company”) held a “Salt of the Earth” corporate event to mark Miner’s Day. The celebration was attended by employees from Berezniki and Solikamsk.

At the gala evening, the Company’s management congratulated miners who have reached great heights in the profession, the so-called “salt of the earth”.

Miner’s Day bring together people who are courageous and determined, those who enable the company to extract thousands of tonnes of ore each day.

Dmitry Osipov, Uralkali CEO, commented:

Miner’s Day is one of the most important holidays for us. Nature has generously endowed our region with rich potash resources, but they would not be accessible without the courageous work of our miners, based on professionalism, fraternity and co-operation. These miners set new standards for their pace of work and create opportunities for Uralkali and the whole potash industry. We have to implement a lot of complicated and interesting projects, which are all made possible by the professional team of miners here at Uralkali.

The following awards were presented:

  • “Miner’s Honour” II class to Sergey Gabov, Chief Engineer at Solikamsk-1, and Vitaly Mychelkin, Deputy Chief Engineer for Technology at Berezniki-4.
  • “Labour Honour” III class to Vera Strizhak, Head of Labour and Payroll Administration.

A further nine employees were given certificates and thank you letters from the Russian Ministry of Energy.

The “Honoured Potash Worker” distinction, the highest corporate award, was presented to:

  • Vladimir Gromov, Stoping Machine Operator at Solikamsk-1;
  • Stanislav Zhulanov, Loading Foreman for Warehouse Distribution;
  • Vladimir Zebzeev, Stoping Machine Operator at Solikamsk-2;
  • Elena Kichakova, Chief Engineer of the Design Department in the Capital Construction Unit;
  • Mikhail Likhotin, Deputy Head of the Grinding Production Area of Berezniki-4;
  • Tatiana Litvinova, Chief Specialist of the Geology Department;
  • Sergey Malyutin, Mechanical Engineer in the Headframe Production Area at Berezniki-4;
  • Vladimir Maltsev, Stoping Machine Operator at Berezniki-4;
  • Andrey Myasnikov, Head of the Headframe Production Area at Solikamsk-3;
  • Ivan Potapov, Stoping Machine Operator at Solikamsk-3;
  • Elena Samoilova, Chief Specialist of the Labour and Industrial Safety Department of Solikamsk-3;
  • Boris Serebrennikov, Director of Berezniki-4;
  • Yuri Chebykin, Stoping Machine Operator at Berezniki-2.
