Uralkali Awards Scholarships to Top Students at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University

Today, Uralkali awarded individual scholarship certificates to the top ten students of the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year during an official ceremony at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU).

The students are majoring in subject areas most sought-after by Uralkali. These are Production Machines and Equipment, Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances, Physical Processes of Mining, Mine Surveying, Underground Development of Ore Deposits, Electrification and Automation of Mining, Mining Machines and Equipment, Electromechanics and Electric Power Supply.

A further five scholarship certificates were awarded to the most successful students at the Berezniki Branch of PNRPU.

In addition, Uralkali has rewarded 20 students of the Berezniki Polytechnic College and the Solikamsk College of Mining and Chemistry.

Uralkali has been awarding individual scholarships since 2006 as part of a collaboration agreement between the Company, PNRPU and the Berezniki Branch of PNRPU. The scholarships, which have a value of RUB 3,000 per month, are paid at the end of each semester. The key criteria for selecting successful candidates include high academic performance, participation in the university’s research activities, speaking at scientific conferences, successfully completing internships, and active participation in the university’s social life.

In addition, Uralkali is sponsoring the upgrade of PNRPU’s facilities and resources; it also allocates funds for grants to teachers and researchers as well as for equipping laboratories. Since 2015, the Company has spent approximately RUB 43 million on the development of PNRPU and its Berezniki Branch.

Uralkali also grants individual scholarships to students of the Berezniki Polytechnic College and the Solikamsk College of Mining and Chemistry. In order to become eligible for a scholarship, students must have excellent grades and take an active part in the scientific and social life of their college. Uralkali also helps to improve the facilities and resources of these educational institutions. Since 2015, Uralkali has spent approximately RUB 16 million on supporting secondary vocational education in Berezniki and Solikamsk.
